Fare Co-op Celebrates Northern California Launch & 777 Milestone with Community BBQ

San Mateo, CA – August 5, 2025 — Fare Co-op, the nation’s fast-growing driver-owned rideshare platform, officially launched its Northern California operations with a lively community BBQ at Coyote Point Recreation Area on August 5th, 2025. The event doubled as a “777 Celebration,” marking a major achievement: surpassing 7,000 drivers, 7,000 customers, and 7,000 total rides.

After eight months of building local leadership, recruiting drivers, and forging community connections, Fare Co-op’s founders and Bay Area leadership welcomed attendees for a day of food, fun, and cooperative spirit. Guests enjoyed freshly grilled meals graciously sponsored by Saba Livestock (https://www.sabafarm.com/), participated in raffles and giveaways, and heard inspiring remarks from Fare Co-op leadership, including Founder & Chairman Ahmed Attia, COO & Co-Founder Danny Golnik, CEO Ivan Olivo, Co-Founder Matthew Mahoney, and Bay Area President Malek Nasher.

The launch event underscored Fare Co-op’s mission to redefine rideshare by keeping ownership and profits in the hands of the people who make the service possible. Built on a cooperative model, Fare Co-op empowers drivers and riders alike to share in decision-making and financial benefits—offering an alternative to corporate rideshare giants.

“This isn’t just a launch,” said Attia. “It’s proof that when communities come together, they can own the technology, the platform, and the future of work itself.”

The day’s celebration also served as a call to action for new members to join the movement. With free entry for RSVPs, families and friends gathered to experience first-hand what a community-owned rideshare can look like—and to help shape its future.
